Amazing Results From Techniques Developed By Leading Physiotherapist
- A powerful new perspective on why the body becomes dysfunctional.
Developed 15 years ago by South African Physiotherapist and Kinesiologist Douglas Heel.
This new approach is changing the way Sports Therapists, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and other body workers think and treat their clients.
We start with the premise that the whole body is connected. So an injury or tension in one area, will have repercussions on another. When we interrupt these Dysfunctional Movement Patterns with the treatment, the muscles rediscover their optimal function. This means you feel less pain and also feel the pressure being taken off all your joints.
What is crucial to point out is that the treatment is not just a healing system, but also a performance enhancing system and a way to manage everyday stress. As we increase the body's ability to perform, we build resilience which then reduces the risk of injury.
- So what happens in a treatment session?
First of all you will be tested to see how your muscles are currently functioning, using a series of resistance and flexibility tests. Muscle activation begins with the diaphragm (the primary muscle used for respiration), to ensure you are breathing correctly and then, the rest of the body's sequencing is assessed and activated.
Activation is achieved by the stimulation of certain points on the body that relate to each muscle group. Results are both immediate and measurable.

Ideal sequencing works in a 1-2-3 pattern, with the muscles activating from the core outwards.
